This Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin recipe is super simple to prepare on the grill and a sure crowd pleaser!
Pork tenderloin is one of my favorite meats to throw on the grill because it tastes delicious and is super easy to cook. And with summer temperatures creeping hotter and hotter, I am all about taking things outside and not using my oven! This Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin also has a deliciously simple pork tenderloin marinade that is to die for!
Grilling to the rescue with these hot summer temps
Warmer days and longer nights have many of us spending more time outside, and not wanting to heat up your kitchen. Why turn on your oven and heat up your home when you can grill delicious pork outside? Living in Houston, we’re stuck with 90+ degree temps for at least 4-5 months out of the year, so I love dinner options like Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin that don’t require heating up my kitchen.
Why I like bacon wrapped pork tenderloin
There are so many different cuts of pork that taste delicious on the grill, but I love the combination of bacon and tenderloin because you get the slight indulgence of the bacon paired with the delicious lean pork tenderloin for the perfect balance.
Pork is one of the most widely consumed and versatile proteins. It’s simple to prepare and adaptable to just about any recipe. The most common cuts of pork for grilling are:
- chops
- loin roasts
- tenderloin
- ribs
- shoulder
You also can’t beat the way these delicious flavors combine together and the tangy sweet peach infused marinade pairs so perfectly with the pork, I know this is going to be a favorite recipe for a long time to come.
How to grill pork tenderloin
Pork tenderloin is one of my favorite pork cuts because it is equally tasty and easy to cook. It’s also perfect for easy weeknight dinners on the grill. (Also, note: pork tenderloin and pork loin are two different cuts of meat. Tenderloins tend to be longer and skinnier.)
Once you remove your tenderloin from its packaging, you’ll want to remove the silver “skin” that runs down one side, and then let the tenderloins sit for about 30 minutes to come to room temperature.
At this point, you can use a dry rub, a marinade, wrap it in bacon, and more. The possibilities are endless. Once you’ve prepped your meat (as we describe in the Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin recipe below), we’ll put our pork tenderloin on the grill. This article from the Kitchn on how to grill pork tenderloin gives a great overview of the general process as well.
Pork tenderloin temperature
Pork tenderloin should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a very helpful chart that shows the temperatures other cuts should be cooked to as well.
Peach balsamic pork tenderloin marinade
There are lots of great pork tenderloin marinade recipes out there, and my peach balsamic pork tenderloin marinade (recipe below) is no exception! I love the combination of juicy, salty, flavorful pork and a sweet marinade. Add the bacon in, and it’s a recipe you can’t resist!

How to grill bacon wrapped pork tenderloin
Grilled Bacon Wrapped Spork tenderloin does have a couple extra steps, but they’re nothing complicated, I promise! The basic process is to bring your pork tenderloin to room temperature as described above, coat it with your pork tenderloin marinade, wrap with your bacon slices and secure with toothpicks or wooden dowels. I go into more detail on this in the recipe below, but that’s the general steps on how to grill bacon wrapped pork tenderloin.
Pork tenderloin sides
A simple trick I like to do for deciding on pork tenderloin sides, is figuring out which veggies would also pair well with he marinade I’m using. I LOVE green beans with the same marinade from this recipe, but you can also use brussel sprouts or carrots as well. All you have to do is place your rinsed veggies in a grill safe dish or tray, drizzle some extra marinade on top of them, and then place the tray on the indirect heat side of the grill for 10-15 minutes. They’ll turn out super flavorful and delicious!
Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin
Equipment
- grill
Ingredients
- 2 pork tenderloins about 1lb. each
- ½ cup peach slices
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 ½ Tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar
- ½ Tbsp molasses
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 8 slices pork bacon
Instructions
- Once you remove your tenderloin from its packaging, you’ll want to remove the silver “skin” that runs down one side, and then let the tenderloins sit for about 30 minutes to come to room temperature. Depending on what type of grill you have, you may want to go ahead and start pre-heating your grill at this point.
For the marinade
- Combine the peach slices, ketchup, sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Set aside.
For the pork tenderloins
- Once the tenderloins have sat out for about 30 minutes, coat them evenly with the marinade on all sides. Set aside on a tray or pan.
- Next take your slices of bacon and wrap them around the pork tenderloins and secure with a toothpick or small wooden skewer.
- Add your prepared tenderloins to your grill. If possible, avoid putting them directly over a flame. Instead heat one side of the grill and place the tenderloins on the other side so they are getting indirect heat. You’ll cook the tenderloins with the grill lid closed for about 20-25 minutes (turning half way through) until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
- Once they are finished cooking, remove the tenderloins from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice into 3-4oz portions and enjoy!
