 Purple Monster Halloween Treats

This recipe for Purple Monster Halloween Treats is sponsored by Sprouts Farmer’s Market. All thoughts and ideas are my own.

Ghosts, ghouls, and monsters… oh my! ’Tis the season for fun scary treats! These Purple Monster Halloween Treats are simple to whip up and free of artificial dyes and sweeteners. You can grab most of these ingredients on the baking aisle at your local Sprouts! (The whole milk and marshmallow treats will be on other aisles at Sprouts.) I’ve linked the specific. products I used from Sprouts in the ingredient list below.

Sprouts offers a one stop shop for all of these ingredients. You’ll find the marshmallow cereal treats on the breakfast bar aisle, and the milk over in the dairy section. Everything else is right where you need it in the baking aisle. And because you can rely on Sprouts to always have natural options, you can rest assured that the food coloring and sprinkles do not contain any artificial coloring.

Here’s some helpful tips as you’re making these scary but o-so-sweet treats:

  1. Don’t be afraid to be heavy handed with the food coloring. It’s naturally dyed so you don’t have to worry about it being too excessive. The more you use the brighter the colors will be.

  2. The sprinkles add a fun touch, but you can easily sub them out for coconut flakes or shaved chocolate too.

  3. You want the icing to be thick and slightly runny. Give it plenty of time to dry and set up after you spread it onto the marshmallow treats so it doesn’t crack. If it seems to be too thick or too thin, add small amounts of milk or powdered sugar as needed.

  4. Spoon the icing gently onto the marshmallow treats and spread with the back of the spoon.

  5. Add the white chocolate chips for the eyes before the icing dries completely.
