If you love caramel apples and want an easy way to add more protein to snack time, this Caramel Apple Cottage Cheese Dip is for you. It’s creamy, slightly sweet, and packed with flavor. And, even better, there’s no baking required!
This high protein apple dip is made with cottage cheese, no-sugar-added caramel sauce, almond butter, and a few simple flavorings. Blend everything together until smooth, grab your favorite apple (mine is Cosmic Crisp!), and you have an easy fall snack ready in about five minutes.
Why You’ll Love This Caramel Apple Cottage Cheese Dip
Traditional caramel apple dip recipes can be delicious, but they’re often made with a lot of added sugar. This healthy caramel apple dip uses cottage cheese as the base and has no added sugar.
Cottage cheese gives us that creamy texture we want in a dip while also adding a significant amount of protein. In fact, two cups of cottage cheese can provide around 60 grams of protein, depending on the brand you use.
And because we’re using a no-sugar-added caramel sauce, we get plenty of caramel flavor without needing any added sugar.
The result is a creamy cottage cheese caramel dip that works just as well for an afternoon snack as it does for a simple fall dessert.
A High Protein Apple Dip for Blood Sugar Management
If you’re living with diabetes, you don’t need to avoid apples or other carbohydrate-containing foods. Instead, one strategy I often recommend is pairing carbohydrate-rich foods with sources of fat, fiber, and/or protein.
And that’s exactly what we’re doing with this diabetes friendly caramel apple dip.
Apples provide carbohydrate and fiber, while our Caramel Apple Cottage Cheese Dip provides protein. This combination makes this blood sugar friendly caramel apple dip a great option when you’re craving something sweet but still want a balanced snack. You can also serve the dip with pears, strawberries, or your favorite whole grain or higher-fiber crackers.

The Easiest No Bake Apple Dip
Another reason I love this recipe? It takes about five minutes to make.
For this no bake apple dip, simply add your cottage cheese, no-sugar-added caramel sauce, almond butter, vanilla extract, almond extract, cinnamon, and salt to a food processor or high-powered blender. Then, blend everything until the cottage cheese becomes completely smooth and creamy. That’s it!
If you think you don’t like cottage cheese because of its texture, blending it can be a game changer. Once blended, it creates a smooth base that works perfectly for an apple dip with cottage cheese.
What to Serve With Cottage Cheese Caramel Dip
My favorite way to serve this protein apple dip is, unsurprisingly, with sliced apples. Choose your favorite variety (my go-to is Cosmic Crisp!) or use a combination of sweet and tart apples.
You can also try:
- Pear slices
- Strawberries
- Whole grain crackers
- Graham crackers
- High-fiber crackers
And if you’re serving this as an apple dip for kids, put several different dipping options on a plate and let them choose their favorites.

The Perfect Easy Fall Snack
Whether you need an after-school snack, a quick dessert, or a fall snack for people with diabetes, this recipe checks all the boxes. It has the classic caramel and cinnamon flavors we associate with fall while also offering more protein and less added sugar than many traditional caramel dips.
This easy apple dip recipe also keeps well in the refrigerator, so you can make it ahead of time and have it ready when you need a quick snack.
The next time you’re craving caramel apples, grab some cottage cheese and your favorite no-sugar-added caramel sauce and make this Caramel Apple Cottage Cheese Dip instead. Pair it with crisp apple slices and enjoy!
